Stump grinder position overview

The stump grinder position generally consists of grinding stumps or working hard with our tree crews hauling branches and logs to chip up the debris. Tree service experience is preferred, but not required. Other responsibilities may include:

Job Duties

·        Grinding stumps 6-8 inches below ground level and blowing chips into a pile

·        Putting up guards around the stump grinder while grinding

·        Being aware off underground utility lines

·        Read though work orders to determine what stumps to grind

·        Picking up chips and putting down dirt from stump grindings

·        Positioning and operating the chipper

·        Dumping or assisting with dumping chips

·        Mulch & firewood deliveries

·        Installing mulch

·        Miscellaneous tasks around the shop building

·        Filling up with fuel, clean out & inspect truck at the end of the day

·        Communicating any issues regarding equipment

·        Use of safety equipment and following safety procedures

Qualifications

·        Ability to lift 50-100 pounds

·        Class A, B or C license preferred, but not required

·        Standard class D license is required

·        Tree service experience preferred but not required

·        Ability to work in all weather conditions all year round

·        Positive attitude and good work ethic
